3 John Punch: system build quotation from SY&CC on site replacement options.

Cllr Thompson reminded the working group of the estimates as follows:

  1. Single storey approximately 170 sq. metre £338,171 plus fees and VAT.

  2. Two Storey approximately 225 sq. metre with internal stair case £555,621 plus fees and VAT.

Very important to share this info in planned communication.

4 Hough & Co Building Appraisal.

The schedule of works has been prioritised with Priority 1 as most urgent, an immediate spend of £15.6.

All work identified as being required within 3-5 years. Circa £75K overall.

5 Cllr Mick Cox 4th proposal.

Cllr Cox had shared an email (attached) written on Jan 28th prior to the meeting detailing a fourth option to future proof the building but also addressed the list of priorities raised in the Hough & Co report. He also reiterated the importance of making a decision re the Staffs County Council offer before any other decisions can be made.

Cllr Cox then challenged item by item the Hough & Co report. His view is to use the money in a better way to future proof the building. However, only items 1-3 were covered, offering a potential saving of £14.5K with these challenges.

Cllr Thompson pointed out that the timescale in the Hough & Co report was that work needed to be completed within 3-5 years & at this point Cllr Cox felt there was no point continuing with his report and left the meeting.

Further discussions took place with regard to the lease. It was agreed to establish exactly what Council’s responsibilities are. The Clerk & the Chairman will investigate specifics and feedback.

6 Date of next meeting: to be agreed.
