Approved Minutes from NP&P of Shenstone Parish Council held on 5th June 2023 in the Parish Office

1. Register of members in attendance:

Cllrs Val Neale, David Salter, David Thompson(Chair), Gail Nicholls

2. Acceptance of apologies.

3. Public Participation. Members of the Public are invited to address Council for a maximum of 15 minutes:

4. Declarations of interest. Members should consider whether they should partake in any discussion or vote on matters on the agenda unless they have a dispensation:

5. To Confirm Chair of NP&P

Cllr David Thompson confirmed he would carry on proposed by Cllr David Salter seconded by Cllr Gail Nicholls

6. Terms of reference accepted and duly signed

7. To accept and confirm minutes of the NP&P meeting on date 7th

February 2023 minutes signed by chair

8. Planning applications

9. RCEF Working Group feedback on Heat Development Unit Round 13

Cllr Thompson and Peter Hatch had met with SSW representative to discuss the use of the aquafi to supply heat to a possible new development by the railway station. It would need more involvement from the district council to look at the funding for more investigations. The bids for this funding are open till the end of 2023.

10. Four yearly traffic survey.

No results as yet but, the clerk will contact traffic officer directly. The survey and its findings will be reported to full council by a traffic officer

11. Neighbourhood plans:

We are still waiting for the LDC local plan to be approved before we can go ahead refreshing our NPs.

12. Malkins Coppice:

the clerk updated that we haven’t heard back from SSW but, the lease which was due has not been paid for.

13. Footpath from Lammas land to Malkins Coppice

more details needed. Cllr Salter felt that a small pencil sketch would be ok.

14. Lammas land boundary adjustment legal action update.

There is no update, the clerk contacted the solicitors but, the person dealing with the case only works part time. The clerk will get in touch with them again.

15. Traffic calming gates at Shenstone southern approach

After meeting and discussion with Mary Lee (SCC) the positioning and style have yet to be agreed and a site visit is to be arranged to decide. A company has been recommended to supply and fit the gateway. Cllr Nicholls spoke about the difficulty of placing these gates in Stonnall due to the narrow verges on the approach to the village on Lynn Lane. and from the four junctions from the Chester Road it may be possible for some to be placed on Church Road as the verges are wider there.

16. Shenstone Plying Fields Committee:

6th June AGM Cllrs David Thompson and Stuart Jones will attend as our representatives. More local residents are coming forward to get involved in this very important local amenity

17. Parking on verge Lynn Lane

This is within the remit of the landowners and SCC, a suggestion of bollards to create a ‘flow’ has been made.

18. A.O.B.

1) Planning permission is required for the Parish Flagpole. Cllr Salter is investigating land ownership.
2)Consideration of road side work license for the lenghtsman
3)Request for waste bin at Little Aston Lane/Walsall Road junction as the area is a heavily used route for dog walkers and school children. Recommend approval at full Counil
