On Thursday 17th November 2016 the result of the Shenstone Neighbourhood Plan referendum votes cast were as follows:

Votes Cast in favour – 509. Representing 88.7% of the vote

Votes not cast in favour – 64. Representing 11.1% of the vote.

The turnout was 24.1% of the total electorate.

This means the Shenstone Neighbourhood Plan has been approved, as more than half of those voting have voted in favour. Lichfield District Council will now formally adopt the Neighbourhood Plan. The turnout and result is very similar to the Neighbourhood Plan voting results elsewhere in the Lichfield District Council area and nationally. Following that final approval by Lichfield Council the Neighbourhood Plan will be used in future years to shape where village developments will go what they will look like.
