St John’s plays a focal role in the life of Shenstone, maintaining a Christian presence in our village where a church has stood since Anglo-Saxon times. Today, the church aims to serve Christ in the community and to maintain strong partnerships with other faith groups; village organisations and the school. Whether you are a visitor; wanting to know more or a committed Christian, St John’s offers a warm welcome to all.
The Reverend Liz Chamberlain is the first female full-time incumbent of both St John’s in Shenstone and St Peter’s in Stonnall. She became the 38th incumbent in September 2014 and is the first woman to hold the post since the first vicar was appointed at Shenstone in 1274. You’ll find St John’s in the middle of the village, on top of St John’s hill. Do come and see us.
