A neighbourhood plan is a statutory document that gives communities the power to shape the development of their local area. It’s important because it allows communities to:

a) Have a say where new homes, shops, offices are built and what they should look like

b) Influence development and the use and development of land in their area

c) Strengthen communities by coming together to make planning decisions and deliver a collective vision for their area

d) Fund community infrastructure, use money raised from developers to fund infrastructure like new roads, schools, and parks
