Dear Resident.
It has come to our attention that a petition is currently circulating Stonnall and has also been placed in a local shop.
The heading of this petition is “Shenstone Parish Council” though the Parish Council are not involved in it and wish to clearly establish that fact. The heading looks like this:
However, It is NOT from Shenstone Parish Council.
The copy in the shop has had its heading removed to avoid confusion and misrepresentation.
Petitions are, in themselves, perfectly lawful, but Council need to be clear that this does not originate from a Local Authority.
There is currently a Community Governance Review of Parish Councils and information about it is featured in the next Parish newsletter which will be circulated to all homes on Wednesday.
The subject will also be an agenda item at the next Full Parish Council meeting on 12th April.
