Shenstone Parish Council

Money for the Parish Council comes largely from a small proportion of the Council Tax which all electors pay, and which is clearly identified on your Council Tax bill: this is called the Precept. Publicity for the precept was poor this year, and these pages explain in detail what we are trying to achieve on your behalf.
Over the past few years, the financial regulations governing the operations and investments of Parish Councils have become much more stringent, and quite rightly so.The finances of the Council are subject to oversight by the Finance Committee.

Financial controls and reporting must comply with the law and balance sheets and profit and loss statements must be accurate and present a fair picture of the financial position of the Council
